Important COVID-19 Update – Office Closings

Home > Important COVID-19 Update – Office Closings
Mar 17, 2020 | Petro Cohen | Read Time: 2 minutes

To our valued clients and associates,

We are reaching out to update you regarding firm activities during this unprecedented time of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As you are likely aware, New Jersey officials have implemented a statewide curfew to avoid non-essential travel during between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM.  The State is also requiring schools, casinos, movie theaters, gyms, and restaurants to close. Additionally, in conjunction with the mandate from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Governor Murphy is limiting gatherings to 50 people or less. More significantly, the Federal government is now limiting gatherings to 10 people or less.

At Petro Cohen, P.C., the health and welfare of our employees and clients is always paramount. During these trying times, we are doing everything we can to be flexible and creative in working through the challenges we face, and remain committed to helping all of our clients successfully navigate their workers’ compensation, personal injury, and Social Security disability claims.

Here are a few important updates regarding court appointments.

  • As of today, the NJ Workers’ Compensation Court has implemented a three-week suspension through Friday, April 3. Courts are presently scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6 but that date could be extended and we will keep you informed as we know more.
  • NJ State Courts are closed through today, and we are anticipating that they will also implement a longer suspension.
  • NJ Municipal Courts are closed through at least March 30.

Effective tomorrow, March 18, we are closing our four law firm offices temporarily, but want you to know that we will available for you and will continue to help our clients in whatever way possible.  Most of our staff will be working remotely so vital work on your cases will continue.

At the bottom of this e-mail, you will find important contact information for our lawyers and key staff members.  We encourage you to reach out to us via e-mail or direct extension with any questions or needs you may have.

We will be sure to reach out again when we have additional information regarding courts and our offices reopening.

In the meantime, please take every precaution to ensure you and your family remain safe and well.
