Workers' Compensation

The attorneys at Petro Cohen, P.C. can make workers’ compensation work for you. We solve problems. We get results.

When you are injured at work, you need a qualified workers’ compensation attorney by your side to ensure that you receive all the benefits to which you are entitled. Our team of experienced attorneys can guide you through the process, answering questions you may have along the way, and representing you in Workers’ Compensation Court.

Many people do not realize that there are three types of benefits associated with workers’ compensation:

  1. Temporary Disability Benefits
  2. Medical Treatment
  3. and Permanent Partial Disability.

Although a workers’ compensation carrier may make a voluntary payment, an experienced workers’ compensation attorney will make sure you receive ALL of the benefits to which you are legally entitled. The system is designed to have the Workers’ Compensation court review every case to make certain that the insurance company compensates you properly. However, you must retain a lawyer to file a Petition arranging for judicial review. Otherwise, you will simply receive whatever the insurance company decides to voluntarily pay, which is typically much less than what you actually deserve.

Did you know that you could be receiving workers’ compensation payments even if you are not currently working? If the physical demands of your current or prior job took a toll on your body, you may qualify for workers’ compensation benefits. We call these types of injuries “WEAR and TEAR” and have helped hard working employees receive benefits for serious ailments caused by repetitive stress at work. In fact, our law firm was one of the first in the area to present and win cases in this niche field. When it comes to repetitive stress injuries, the workers’ comp team at Petro Cohen, P.C. has had repetitive results!
