NORTHFIELD, NJ – November 25, 2013 – Frank A. Petro of Petro Cohen, P.C. law firm was the guest speaker at the recent inaugural event for the newly-established Randy J. Holland Workers’ Compensation Inn of Court.
The Delaware-based organization is a chapter of the American Inns of Court, the nation’s leading professional organization promoting legal excellence, professionalism, ethics, and civility for United States judges and lawyers. The new chapter was named for Justice Randy J. Holland, who was the youngest attorney ever to be appointed to the DE Supreme Court Bench and is the sole jurist appointed to a third (12-year) term by the State’s Governor. The creation of the Delaware Inn of Court, dedicated to fostering excellence in practice specifically with regard to workers’ compensation, was the brainchild of Justice Holland.
The Delaware based organization selected Mr. Petro to be the featured speaker because of his expertise in the field of workers’ compensation, his ties to the national and NJ Inn of Court organizations, as well as his long-standing relationship with Justice Holland through the Inns of Court.
Mr. Petro was one of only three Presidents of the leading professional organization for New Jersey workers’ compensation lawyers and judges, The Justice James H. Coleman, Jr. New Jersey Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court, which has a membership of approximately 150 lawyers and judges throughout the State. He also served as one of 38 National Trustees for the American Inns of Court Foundation, and held the position of Treasurer from 2008 to 2012.
Frank Petro is a founding partner at Petro Cohen, P.C. and is head of the workers’ compensation department. He has limited his practice to handling workers’ compensation cases over the past 30+ years. Mr. Petro is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Workers’ Compensation Law Attorney, the highest specialty certification available to New Jersey workers’ compensation lawyers.
Mr. Petro has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers list for workers’ compensation for 10 consecutive years. Additionally, he has been named in every “Best Lawyers in America®” for New Jersey Workers’ Compensation since 1995 and is the only workers’ compensation attorney in the Atlantic City metro area who has this distinction. He has an “A/V” rating from the world’s leading lawyer referral service, Martindale-Hubbell.
During the speech at the Delaware Inn of Court event, Mr. Petro presented the new organization with a gift from the Atlantic City area: a 15 pound bucket of salt water taffy for the “sweet success” of the Inn.
