The law firm of Petro Cohen has partnered with Kids’ Chance of New Jersey on a new scholarship program, hoping to make a difference in the life of a young adult whose parent has been fatally or seriously injured in a New Jersey workplace accident. At a recent fundraising dinner, Petro Cohen attorneys presented a check for $10,000 to the first scholarship recipient, Scott Kwiatek. The new Petro Cohen and Kids’ Chance of NJ Scholarship is being offered for four consecutive years. To be eligible for the scholarship grant, applicants must have a parent who has been fatally or catastrophically injured in a work-related accident, meeting the criteria of the New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Act and resulting in financial need.
