Petro Cohen recently secured a settlement on behalf of its client in the amount of $150,000 for Wear and Tear due to work related repetitive stress to her shoulder and cervical spine. Our client worked as a Registered Nurse for several years principally caring for a single patient who needed daily care. The physical demands of our client’s job duties as a Registered Nurse required repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling over the course of her employment. While there was no single traumatic event leading to injury, the continuous repetitive nature of her job duties resulted in Wear and Tear to her shoulder and cervical spine otherwise referred to as occupational exposure. The matter was vigorously contested by the workers’ compensation carrier. However, ultimately, we were able to secure a favorable settlement on behalf of our client in the amount of $150,000.
Suzanne Holz Meola, a Partner in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department, was principally responsible for the handling of this matter on behalf of our client.
