Suzanne Holz Meola recently represented a 69 year old construction inspector who fell down an embankment at a construction site in 2017. As a result of his fall, her client complained of injuries to his neck, low back, knee and shoulder. A workers’ compensation claim was instituted and the claim settled in 2019. Subsequent to this settlement, Suzanne’s client had a material worsening of his previous injuries. A claim for additional treatment was initially denied but through Suzanne’s efforts, additional treatment was received which included left and right knee replacement surgeries. In light of this material worsening of her client’s prior injuries, Suzanne was ultimately able to secure an additional award of compensation in excess of $190,000.
